IMPORTANT: The following is a General overview of the "B" personality. Its purpose is to provide you with a better understanding of this personality type. NOTE: It is a General Description only, designed to provide contrast for the personality characteristics below that describe the specifics of her personality. Recognizing that although many people share the same personality type, there are many traits, and degrees of traits, that make them different from each other. You will find some of these differences defined in more detail in the Trait section of this report.

The "B" personality is a very outgoing, energetic and fast paced individual who likes to be around people and enjoys being the center of attention. They are good relationship builders and most people like them right away. Their driving need for approval, they try and like everyone in hopes everyone will in turn reciprocate and like them too. Compliments, acknowledgement of their achievements, words of admiration and even applause from groups will be the most important thing you can do for them.

The "B" personality loves to talk about themselves and some may view them as self centered, but their real motivation is to be liked. An extreme example was the character played by Bette Midler in the movie "Beaches" when she invited an old friend up to see her lavish apartment and told her friend about her own success. Then she said to the friend: "Enough about me, let's talk about you. So what do you think of me?"

Their biggest fear is being humiliated in public, since it might make many people disapprove of them and the thought of that would be devastating. The "B" personality doesn't want to appear unattractive or unsuccessful either, so they will make sure their appearance is impeccable and will always give the impression of being very successful at whatever they do, whether they are or not.

Some of the strengths you can count on from the "B" personality are their enthusiasm, outgoing behavior, friendliness towards others and their ability to persuade even the most skeptical of people. They tend to be "dreamers" and can often turn those dreams into very practical ideas in the workplace. "B" personalities are normally spontaneous and use their quick wit and humor to make people like them. They aren't too good about hiding their own feelings either, so if they are hurt or disappointed, you'll probably be able to read it in their mannerisms and overall disposition.

Some of the natural weaknesses that are associated with the "B" personality include being impatient, having a relatively short attention span and are not very detail oriented. In business, "B" personalities may tend to socialize at work and not spend as much time doing their work because they strive for the social interaction. Although this is their natural tendency, many have learned to control themselves and keep their social nature in perspective.


The information at the right is somewhat more specific to Torsten's
Personality and is based on what might be expected of her when her Primary Personality type may be influenced by her Secondary type, and in some cases influences of the other types that are very close in terms of the percentage shown on the Summary Report.

"The Good Samaritan" - Torsten seeks close, personal relationships with others and will become very attached to people she considers to be good friends. In this variation of the "B" personality, friendship is even somewhat more important than being popular. Torsten is a good listener, as well as a good talker, and people feel very comfortable telling her their innermost thoughts and problems.

She is very empathetic and will go out of her way to help others, whether she knows them or not. She tends to be trusting of others and likes everybody to be happy and to be friends. At times, Torsten may be too trusting and find herself being taken advantage of or used by others. Under a lot of stress, she may become gullible and make bad decisions because of her tendency to trust and rely on information from unreliable sources.

You can expect her to be very thorough in her analysis of an issue and cover points many other people would not even think of or otherwise overlook.

Torsten is exactly half way between the proactive and reactive scale. Having the ability to draw from either side equally, although not necessarily strongly, can be an asset in many jobs. Since she is also spontaneous, she may seem to be a bit more reactive at times since she is comfortable in that role.

* - A CONFIDENCE FACTOR of 1 Star indicates that Torsten described herself as being much MORE Proactive than the "5" described above, but ALSO more Reactive as well.  There is a good chance that this may also indicate a SITUATIONAL Trait. If it is situational, she will take a much more proactive role in some situations, and  in others, handle the situation more reactively.  Knowing this possibility exists, you should find out more about what those situations may be and how they may, if at all, affect her performance in the job which she holds or for which she has applied.

Please keep in mind, It is also possible, although somewhat less likely, that she may have answered some of the questions incorrectly in an effort to sway the results in one direction or another.  Although it is more likely to be situational, you should consider interviewing carefully on this point to make sure you are satisfied with her answers to your questions regarding this subject.

Although some changes from time to time are ok, especially if she sees them as having positive impact on her job, constant changes will probably be viewed as instability and will cause stress.

Torsten is patient and will wait beyond what many would consider to be a reasonable amount of time to arrive at a decision or conclusion. Her patience means she will not be the type to be pushy or force people to make decisions. Co-workers, may seek her advise on personal issues knowing she will listen patiently and not jump to premature conclusions.  This trait is important in many jobs especially where counseling is involved and where it is important to avoid jumping to conclusions before hearing all of the facts.

She will be very open to opportunities where her persuasiveness may dictate her income or position in the company. The "B" personality normally has a higher level of confidence since they enjoy being the center of attention and require more confidence than most to get and keep people's attention.

Torsten is generally a tolerant person. It will take some fairly extreme situations before she speaks out against those who seem to be causing problems or not cooperating in some way. Note, that a lower "Confidence Factor" in this case may indicate a wider range of swings between intolerance and tolerance and is very likely situational.  This would be an excellent point to discuss in the interview if this is an applicable trait for the job for which she has applied.

Torsten is an extremely strong promoter. She will get behind almost anything she believes in and will stop at nothing to make sure everyone knows about whatever it is she's excited about. At this extreme level, there is a very good chance some people will consider her a "hype artist". It will be important to discuss this and make sure she is aware of this and has the self control to present issues in a way most people will accept. Some people with this extreme trait are completely unaware of how others may view them because they are so wrapped up in their own excitement and enthusiasm. If the job she is considering requires someone who is very enthusiastic, Torsten will probably fill the bill in this area. "B" personalities, like Torsten, are normally enthusiastic promoters and enjoy being the center of attention, and thus good presenters. Her persuasiveness will only go to enhance her ability to communicate ideas and concepts to others and could be very good in sales or other positions that require a very enthusiastic and convincing personality.
